The photograph shows the de Havilland 61 Giant Moth VH-UHW. The aircraft arrived in Australia in November 1928 and was sold to Holden's Air Transport Services Ltd in early 1929 for service in New Guinea. The airman in the photograph may be the owner, Les Holden. The Rotary Club of Canberra dating of the photograph is probably accurate.
