Vehicle in the centre is Canberras first motorised appliance, a Hotchkiss circa 1920 model. Both the Hotchkiss and Albion were fitted out in Melbourne under the guidance of the Melbourne Fire Brigade. The vehicle on the left is the Chief officers car, an Armstrong Sidley. The Chief officer of Canberra Fire Brigade Percy Douglass is standing between the vehicles.
